Three Local SEO Tips To Optimize For Voice Searches [video]
Voice searches continue to grow with devices like Amazon Echo, Google Home, and even smart refrigerators. People are now having conversations with devices to help them find goods and services.
Today, we’re going to talk about how you can get found in voice searches for your local business.
Here are a few tips to get you started...
Tip #1: Claim and Complete Your Directories
Online directories are the number one way for people and search engines to find you. You may only use Google to find businesses, but there are a number of directories that Google and Bing pull from to give you an accurate business’ listing for your search. Directories like Acxiom, Neustar, and Infogroup are just a few that search engines pull from.
In addition to these search engine directories are places like Yelp, TripAdvisor, HomeAdvisor, and Yellowpages. These are places that you may not use to find businesses, but there are a TON of people that go to these directories to find the business they are looking for. So, to be the most effective and make sure you are getting found online, you need to make sure that your business is listed accurately in as many directories as possible.
Tip #2: Write Conversational Content On Your Website
If you find that people are asking you the same question on the phone over and over or if people are typing questions on your keyword research, that makes for some great conversational content! Write a blog post or even a whole page answering some of those questions. This is a great way to get found in search results by people who are searching for you as well as starting conversations and answering frequently asked questions. Not only will it save you time, but it could generate a few leads!
Tip #3: Mark up Your Website with Schema
Schema is a chunk of code that you can add to your website that will show things like your name, address, phone number, and logo, as well as things like reviews and specific products that you offer, directly in the Google search results. This can help search engines find your site and can even help customers make the decision to click on your site or even buy from you!
