After ordering, I realized that Mudrock was not ranking on the first page when I searched for “best chicken wings in Louisville, CO,” and they weren’t even ranking for “chicken wings near me” while I was search from inside their restaurant. We each wrote about “chicken wings” in a review on Yelp to see what would happen to their ranking on Google. One month later, not only were they ranking in the local pack for “chicken wings, Louisville, CO,” but they also had a tag saying that they are know for chicken wings. So, how are they suddenly known for chicken wings?
It’s because of the content of the reviews on Yelp. If you really want to get found by new customers searching for you on Google and other sites, you need to get reviews in a variety of different places. This is especially relevant if you have a catering business like Pinocchio's.
How to find out where you need reviews online
To find out where you need reviews, do a search for your keywords and your city, i.e. “Pilates studios Austin, TX”. Whatever directories rank on the first or even second page of Google, you will want to get reviews on those sites. More importantly, you want your customers to use your keywords in their reviews on those sites. Now, don’t bribe them to stuff keywords in their reviews, but if you have some top customers asking how they could help you, ask them to write a review on those places and to use those keywords. It’ll help you rank and it’ll help you get found by new people.
