Lou is a Pennsylvania native, born and raised in a small town just north of Pittsburgh. As a child Lou was surrounded by a family full of small business owners, mostly in the construction or home services type of business, and worked for his grandfather's lawn care business until his early twenties. With a love for art and design Lou began helping his relatives and friends with their branding and advertising needs, which led him to earning a degree in graphic design from the Art Institute Of Pittsburgh in 2007.
While attending the Art Institute Lou discovered that he had a real passion for web design & development so he spent most of his free time learning how to write the necessary code to bring his web designs to life. While learning web development Lou stumbled upon WordPress and began learning a thing or two about the new platform.
For the first six years of his career, Lou worked for a large e-commerce corporation and freelanced as a side gig for small local businesses. As a freelancer Lou realized that he could bring a lot to the table for small business owners, and had been reassured that the corporate world just wasn't his thing so he finally worked up the courage to walk away and start freelancing full time in 2013.
In the past eleven years Lou has specialized in designing and developing WordPress websites while helping small local businesses, non profit organizations, and retailers get found online and sell their products or services to a larger audience. He has also taught many business owners and managers how to use their new WordPress website as one of their primary sales and marketing tools. As an advocate for small business, Lou also volunteers his time to the local community by sitting on the Board Of Advisors for Slippery Business Association, and on the Marketing Committee for Slippery Rock Development.
When Lou gets a chance to step away from his computer he enjoys spending time in the great outdoors, going camping, biking, and brushing up on his photography skills.
