Ramblin Jackson’s Coronavirus plan
1) We will work our normal hours and keep our appointments for you
2) We’re working 100% Remote -- for both client meetings and internal meetings -- until further notice to help #stopthespread
Fortunately, we have been mostly remote for the last several years, with 30-40% of our team working full-time out of state, and then 100% remote since we closed our office in September. Many of our clients and team members are in Colorado and we're having more in-person meetings up until now, but we will pause that until things improve.
3) We recognize this as a tremendous opportunity for you to grow and our commitment to you has increased.
Read on to see why we believe this creates an Opportunity for Growth and why continuing marketing will help you.
The World Needs Resourceful, Positive Leadership More Than Ever
Before we talk about the opportunities, I must address that this IS a very serious health issue. Many people will get sick, some will die. Some people are more at risk than others, and they may include your family members, loved ones, employees, and neighbors. Our hearts and prayers go out to solving this world issue and the people affected most by it. Recognizing that opportunity exists does not make light of the fact that terrible things are happening.
As entrepreneurs -- we are called upon more than ever to Serve and to share Vision.
Running a small business is one of the most philanthropic things you could do, and as a leader, your community needs positive thinking, resourceful thinking, and leadership more than ever.
Entrepreneurs may seem delusional compared to most people. Some people call us Visionaries. Where others see challenge, we see opportunity.
How can you show up as a leader
during this time and create some sense of consistency for your people?
Here’s the deal:
The Grass Will Grow. Spring is here. People will need your lawn and landscape services.
Will You Find The Opportunities?
I know this is a scary time in many ways, and… a bigger part of me is excited for the opportunities.
Had the market not crashed in 2008… had the Rocky Mountain news not gone out of business the year I graduated… had Facebook not been invented nor the smartphone nor Google nor all the things that disrupted my initial dream of writing for a print newspaper….
Ramblin Jackson would have never been born. Last year alone we SPENT nearly $1M in the economy, employing people, paying rent, a buttload of taxation, materials….
Will there be a thinning of the herd?
Will Chuck-In-A-Truck survive the recession?
Will there be new employees in the market looking for a job?
Will there be smaller outfits who give up… that you could acquire?
Communication Will Change
- Will there be trade shows and home shows? Not for the foreseeable future.
- Will customers want to invite you into their home like they did before? Could you learn to sell over a video conference instead?
- Belly-to-Belly Handshake Deals… will change. How could you learn to make VIDEO and Email and Digital a Part of the Experience?
Consumers Will Be More Cautious Of WHO They Spend Money With and Will Do More Research Online
- People Will Increase Their Internet & Smartphone Use… just look at how people are glued to social media and online news right now. Be careful what you consume -- and check out this amazing article about the three types of CEOs
- Consumers will spend MORE TIME RESEARCHING -- ONLINE -- than ever before
Key Questions:
How important is it that when people are more carefully considering where they’ll spend their money… on you versus your competition… that you A) Get FOUND when they are searching and B) Stand out as THE choice over your competition (for new employees AND for customers)?
How can you let your customers know that your company is taking their safety into concern as far as hygiene and general business practices?
If you had to make your team smaller and ask more of them… how important is it that your marketing is bringing in Projects and Customers that are in your ideal service area (and with less windshield time) and of the Hell Yes type?!
What Opportunity do you see to Serve and Lead… to Grow your Team or Expand?
